straw and mud hideout

Here's mine.  I think this is my favorite technique of working - picking and painting with solid colors instead of going the digital voodoo route, mainly because i feel like I have so much to learn.  I don't necessarily get results that i'm especially proud of yet but persistence is how we progress, right?

Also, i wasn't copying Rich-  I swear I had this image in my brain before I even saw his.

A Straw and Mud Hideout

I lost track of time drawing the guy and realized ruh roh... I need a background!  So I grabbed one of my other speedies and threw it in, painted over a bit, adjusted the color, and then hid all my inadequacies behind a blur filter.

DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!

i don't really like the colors that came out on this one. i was going for a desaturated look, but it just turned blah. such is life. i like it a lot more now that im looking at it all little-bitty in the preview of the post though.

Hi All,
Great idea Nate, thanks for the invite.

Would have liked to keep going on this but keeping with the "speed" topic I kept it at 20.

A straw and mud hideout

Sorry...I thought we had 30 mins on this one.....soooooo.....I took 40.

Haha...not too sure how that math adds up.

Super generic since I am still trying to figure out this whole digital painting thing....but I am still hoping to get some tips from you pros. :- )

Here's a splash of color for ya', Rich. Still trying to figure it out though.

Copy-cat antics

Tried my hand again at a 20 minute brush bonanza. But was reminded yet again that 20 minutes is a very short time to do what I want to do. I need to come up with some more time-savey techniques.
