straw and mud hideout

Here's mine.  I think this is my favorite technique of working - picking and painting with solid colors instead of going the digital voodoo route, mainly because i feel like I have so much to learn.  I don't necessarily get results that i'm especially proud of yet but persistence is how we progress, right?

Also, i wasn't copying Rich-  I swear I had this image in my brain before I even saw his.

I know what you mean, Nate. I always have these great images in my head and then Rich does them up right before I do. I always feel like I am copying that guy....

Nice one Nate. I love the deliberate brush strokes - looks very intentional and has a nice feel.

One of many things I like about oil painting is that it forces you to go straight to solid colors. It takes longer time and it's mostly less perfect than digital but you get to enjoy every moment of mixing and brushing in the process. I like this approach Nate!
